Address: | 45 Hesse Street |
---|---|
Suburb: | Queenscliff |
ca.1864
Little is known about the history of this particular building apart from it being the first grocers in Queenscliff. Sited on the north–eastern corner allotment of Hesse and Hobson streets and comparable in architecture with Tenby’s on the opposing street corner, the built form of each reinforces the boundary of the streetscape and views of the seascape.
While the building is thought to be largely unaltered, the current attached verandah differs from the original in profile and articulation of structure.
