Located in the town of Rye on the Mornington Peninsula, Tyrone Foreshore Reserve is a favourite of campers and beachgoers. It has been identified by the Department of Sustainability and Environment as an area of environmental significance, with endangered and rare plant species.
The aim of Friends of Tyrone foreshore is to preserve and enhance the natural values of this reserve. Our secondary aim is to raise awareness in the local community of the environmental value of Tyrone Foreshore.
We meet on a monthly basis on alternating Saturdays and Sundays for working bees, targeting invasive plant species. It’s a great way to spend some time in the beautiful surrounds of the Foreshore, while keeping active, meeting new people, and doing some good while we’re at it!
